Taking the initiative to lead can often be frightening. However, it is a "must" when being a leader. Really, taking initiative is essential to being a truly great leader. Leaders get things done, and thus must not be afraid to start them. I am not afraid to take things head-on and get them done. During my junior year in ELA, I had the oppurtunity to go out of my comfort zone to get things done for our major project. However, I also learned that taking intitative is just as important as faithfully following. Often times the best leader needs to follow to get things done. Thus, I am grateful to have the oppurtunity to lead and follow, as they both helped me develop healthy character traits.
